What are you most passionate about professionally? What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make?
I am passionate about getting to know and understand each individual’s needs, as well as creating a positive and a happy environment whether I am in or out of the office.
What one event in your childhood had the greatest effect on your life?
There was an event in Grade 5 which has stuck with me until now. I was the last runner in a 4 x 100m track relay. I was determined to have our team to finish in 1st place and spent the night before the meet imagining the race over and over, visualizing how I would reach the finish line. The day came and when my turn to run came I saw my teammate running towards me in 3rd place. When the baton was passed to me the team that was in 1st was almost half way to the finish line. However, I didn’t let that discourage me – instead it pushed me to run harder. We won the race. My perseverance taught me never to give up and this has stayed with me ever since.
What “lesson from Mom” do you still live by today?
When I was young, I lived in an impoverished country where food was very limited and we were often hungry. However, every time I looked at my mom she was happy and smiling. I remember a time very clearly, after noticing a puzzled looked on my face, she advised me that “smiling will make you feel and look better”. I haven’t stop smiling ever since.
