The only way to do great work is to love what you do. – Steve Jobs
During my grad studies at UBC I saw an opening for a co-op at GUNN. I applied, got in, and spent a year here as a co-op student. From the very first interview I felt positive energy in the office. People were welcoming, I learned a lot, and it honestly never felt like “just work.” That year made me feel like I belonged here, so staying on full time just felt like the right next step.
Most weekends I’m out on the road. BC is beautiful and I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of exploring it, even if it’s just me driving around solo. If it’s one of those classic rainy Vancouver days, then I stay home, make a cup of chai (tea), and just enjoy the slower pace.
I grew up in Ahmedabad, India. Since I was a kid I was into cars and how things work, so mechanical engineering was always the plan. That passion brought me here for my master’s and career opportunities, and it’s hard not to stay when you’re surrounded by the mountains, lakes and beautiful landscapes of BC.
