My passion for teaching has always left me with a great sense of accomplishment in my contribution to helping others learn.
My friend and former UBC Engineering classmate, Jerry Chang, introduced me to the GUNN family at their Annual Client Appreciation Party in 2014. After being warmly welcomed by the whole team and spending time with each member, I was impressed by the atmosphere and energy GUNN cultivated. After that, it was clear that GUNN was the company I wanted to work for.
Tutoring has been one of my most consistent pastimes from high school onwards. My passion for teaching has always left me with a great sense of accomplishment in my contribution to helping others learn. I would also like to bring my passion for teaching to my professional career by supporting my co-workers, as their successes are my successes.
Over the years I have learned to appreciate something my father used to tell me while I was growing up: “Anything can be lost, but the knowledge one learns can never be taken away”. Looking to this phrase, while it may not have always been clear, I now see the value of continuously challenging oneself to learn new skills and gain knowledge because one never knows when a skill may pay off. My next challenge will be to learn how to cook “properly”!
