I excel when confronted by situations that require quick thinking and planning to break a large project into smaller, actionable, steps.
In the summer I spend my weekends rock climbing and camping. I enjoy the mental and physical challenges rock climbing presents; it helps shape me into a more well-rounded person. In winter, I enjoy skiing backcountry mountains, immersed in the quiet stillness and snowy beauty of the BC wilderness with a few good friends.
I have been a volunteer mentor with Team Climb and Conquer. It’s a registered charity and is a mentorship program for at risk youth in the lower mainland. I think climbing is a great way for youth to express themselves in a positive way and to develop their problem solving skills in a unique and active way. I have volunteered with them twice in a big brother type capacity.
From my experience working in different industries, I’ve found that I thrive working in small teams, in fast paced environments with tight deadlines and large projects. As with climbing, I excel when confronted by situations that require quick thinking and planning to break a large project into smaller, actionable, steps. I enjoy that I get to play a part in the overall design of a project, since our work at GUNN is critical to the shape of the building.
